All-Pro safety, Troy Polamalu is wearing a brace on his left knee due to a tear of the MCL in his left knee but he said on Monday that he will not need surgery after getting hurt in the Steelers' 13-10 win over the Tennessee Titans last Thursday.
Polamalu sprained and tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee when Titans tight end, Alge Crumpler fell on his leg during a scramble to recover a loose ball following a blocked field goal in Thursday night's game.
Polamalu is expected to miss three to six weeks but the injury could have been much worse.
"Regarding an injury to the knee this is the best-case scenario," Polamalu said.
Polamalu had six tackles and an interception against the Titans before getting hurt in the second quarter. Tyrone Carter took his place in the game and will take his place in the starting lineup until his return.

ROETHLISBERGER LIMPS OFF PRACTICE FIELD
BY Ramona Dye

![]()
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger was seen limping off the field with knee discomfort during the teams optional practice on Wednesday. No comments were made of an injury.
Roethlisberger who has led our Steelers to three AFC Championship games and two Super Bowl victories in his last four seasons, was having problems with his knee when he left the practice facility, although there were no visible signs of a bandage. Ben left the field during the morning practice once the problem happened. Medical attention was not needed.
When interviewed neither Coach Tomlin nor Ben remarked on the injury and Coach T said there would be no updates on Ben's injury.
